Lord of the Vampires (Royal House of Shadows, #1)Lord of the Vampires by Gena Showalter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This first book in the Royal House of Shadows series was amazing. For this series a different author will tell each story, and I can't wait to see what the other authors do in this series. If you are a fan of the paranormal romance, I would run don't walk to order this book as it will keep you captivated throughout. There are vampires, witches, and ogres oh my.

Gena Showalter creates a new twist with her vampire Nicolai in Lord of the Vampires. Unfortunately, Nicolai has huge holes in his memory. The one thing he does remember is Jane, who he calls to him to save him as he has been made a slave. Jane is a human who has just recently recovered from a horrendous accident that took her family from her. In her job she has done experiments on vampires. As the story goes on Nicolai remembers more and more of his past and what he needs to do. The problem is that if Jane falls in love with him he will lose her forever. He has to find a way around the curse.

Only Mine (Fool's Gold, #4)Only Mine by Susan Mallery

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Susan Mallery's 4th book in the Fool's Gold series is wonderful. While this is my first Fool's Gold book (I will be reading the others for sure), I have been a Susan Mallery fan for a long time. I read this book in one sitting; I just couldn't get enough of these characters and this town; Fool's Gold is a small town that takes care of its own in both good and not so good ways. The dynamics of the women in the Hendrix family show the importance of family.

Dakota, the first of the triplets of this part of the series, is strong, funny, and smart. She has a lot on her plate including being stuck helping out with the reality series that has invaded the town. Finn,a pilot, has come from Alaska to try to force his twin brothers to go back to school; he has been responsible for them since his parents died in a plane crash and feels they should listen to him. Dakota and Finn's story is touching, sexy, and fun. Finn is not used to being challenged and Dakota is more than happy to show him what that feels like.

Pick up this book TODAY, it is a treat!

Bad Girl By Night (H.O.T. Cops, #1)Bad Girl By Night by Lacey Alexander

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lacey Alexander does it again. The first book in the H.O.T. Cops series is smokin' hot.

Carly, a small town girl seen as sweet, shy, and opposed to sex has a secret life. She sneaks into a neighboring town to become Desiree a women with no sexual hangups whatsoever. After her first encounter with two men she returns home only to find that Jake Lockhart, one of the two men she had been with, has moved to her small town of Turnbridge, Michigan where he has become a local cop. In a struggle to come to terms with the two sides of herself Carly and Jake uncover more about themselves and one another than they bargained for.

This is one of my favorite Lacey Alexander books so far (Voyeur will always be my number one as it was my first erotic romance). These characters have a deep story that engages the reader while also making sure that the heat of the sex scenes is so hot it scorches. I look forward to getting to know some of these other H.O.T. cops in the future.

A Courtesan's Guide to Getting Your ManA Courtesan's Guide to Getting Your Man by Celeste Bradley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Susan Donovan was correct when she told me at RWA 2011 that I would love this book. It is a sensual sensation.

This book covers two time periods present day Boston and Regency London. For those of you like me who love both contemporary romance and Regency romance, this book is for you. There is nothing paranormal about this text. Piper Chase-Pierpont is a museum curator who is in charge of the putting together the exhibit of the famous Ophelia Harrington. As it turns out she was more than meets the eye, and as Piper uncovers the secret life of The Blackbird, she uses this knowledge to ensnare her own gentleman a couple of hundred years later.

Both the present and the past provide enough heat to curl ones toes in an oh so delicious way as both women learn about who they are and the men that inhabit their lives.

I have been a fan of Susan Donovan for a long time, but this book has also made me a Celeste Bradley fan, and I will be picking up more of her books to read.

When You Dare (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor, #1)When You Dare by Lori Foster

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor are super hot. Dare, a professional mercenary, does what needs to be done in any situation and does it really well. When Molly, the woman he rescues because it is the right and honorable thing to do, becomes entangled in his life, Dare finds himself in a very new situation. The chemistry is hot. Lori Foster's sexy characters, witty dialogue, and captivating storytelling make her one of my all time favorites. This book is no exception. A must read.

Call Me IrresistibleCall Me Irresistible by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Call Me Irresistible lives up to its name!

Susan Elizabeth Phillips hits a homerun with her newest book Call Me Irresistible. I could not put it down. Ted and Meg provide entertainment from the beginning and their journey towards love is engaging, amusing, sexy, and smart. For those of you that are already SEP fans, this book is by far the best. She also brings in characters from her other books and gives readers an insight into how they have turned out.

A must read!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As usual, Jill Shalvis wrote a book I couldn't put down. I finished it in one day. This first book in the Lucky Harbor series captured my attention from the beginning. Maddie and Jax are fabulous characters who make you want to get to know them. The touching dynamics between the three sisters kept me wanting more. This book is sexy, smart, humorous, and touching. I can't wait to read more about Lucky Harbor and these amazing characters. If you have never read Jill Shalvis, pick up this book. You will be hooked just like I am.

The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor, #2)The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tara's story (the second in the Lucky Harbor series) pulls on the heart strings as you get to find out why Tara is the way that she is. We were introduced to Tara as one of the three sisters in this series in Simply Irresistible and this book is equally irresistible. Ford, the hero of this story, is both strong and sensitive; a man everyone would love to have. Jill Shalvis makes you want to know her characters and Lucky Harbor is a place I would want to visit. I can't wait for book number three Head Over Heels.
